How much variation should I expect from a sample to a full order?

Our tiles are handmade, so natural differences in color, size, texture, and finish are part of their unique character.

Samples are a great way to get a feel for our tile, but because our products are handmade, your full order may not look exactly like the sample you received.

What kind of variation is normal?

Depending on the tile collection, you may notice differences in:

• Color and shade: Slight to more noticeable differences in tone, even within the same order.
• Size and thickness: Small dimensional variations are common with handmade tiles.
• Texture and finish: Differences in surface texture, glaze application, and overall appearance.
• Batch variation: Tiles produced at different times may vary due to natural materials, firing conditions, and the handmade process.

Will my full order match my sample?

Your sample should give you a general idea of the tile's color, finish, and texture, but it isn't an exact representation of every piece in your order.

Some collections have more variation than others, and natural materials like terracotta can be especially unpredictable. Even tiles from the same production batch may have noticeable differences.

We always recommend blending tiles from multiple boxes before installation to distribute the natural variation and create a balanced overall appearance.

What if I prefer a more uniform look?

If you're looking for very consistent color, size, and finish, handmade tile may not be the best fit for your project.
