What is the difference between Natural Terracotta and Speciality Terracotta?

Terracotta is an umbrella term, so we have broken down the types of terracotta into 2 categories, Natural Terracotta and Specialty Terracotta.

Natural Terracotta, also known as Saltillo, is made from clay sourced exclusively from Saltillo, Mexico. This makes them 100% authentic. It has a centuries-old production process and features natural surface textures, color variations, and size options. We offer two textures (smooth and antique) and three sealants (gloss, satin, and matte) for Natural Terracotta.

For specialty terracotta options, we have Organic Terracotta, Cotto, and D'Hanis, which all fall under the terracotta umbrella. These specialty items are all composed of various types of clay. They typically have less color variation and have different characteristics for texture, sealant, and overall look. We dive deeper into each of the specialty categories here.
